Breadcrumbs give cauliflower a crispy, appetizing crust. To do this, fry it in a large amount of oil or deep-fry it. But if you want to make the dish less caloric, you can cook it in the oven. Before frying the cabbage, you first need to boil it until half-ready. Serve it as a side dish to meat or fish. This cabbage will also be an excellent appetizer if you serve it with sauce: tomato, cream or cheese will do.

GETTING READY

  1. Wash the cauliflower. Prepare a frying pan.
If you have frozen cauliflower, you need to defrost it completely and drain the water.

STEP 1

  1. Separate the cauliflower into small florets.

STEP 2

  1. Place the cauliflower in a saucepan and cover with water. Add 1 pinch of salt. Place the saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 6-7 minutes. Throw the cabbage into a colander or sieve to drain the water. Let the cauliflower cool for 5 minutes.

STEP 3

  1. Break the egg into a separate bowl and beat with a fork. Transfer the cauliflower to the bowl with the egg and mix well.

STEP 4

  1. Place bread crumbs in another bowl. Coat the cauliflower in bread crumbs on all sides.

Add various spices, dried herbs or ground nuts to the crackers.

STEP 5

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan. Fry the cauliflower until golden brown for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

To fry cauliflower without oil, line the pan with parchment paper. Or bake the cabbage in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 180 °C.

MAKE AN IMPRESSION

  1. Serve fried cauliflower with sour cream, garnished with herbs and radishes.
