The drink, invented at the end of the century before last, has changed in accordance with the requirements of the time and now the recipe does not contain some ingredients that were part of the original composition. Nowadays, cola is made from carbonated water with the addition of sugar or sweeteners, food coloring, flavorings, caffeine and orthophosphoric acid.
Saudi Arabia invented cola with a local twist: selected date palm fruits were used as the main ingredient. The country is considered the world’s leading producer and one of the main exporters of dates , with production exceeding 1.6 million tons per year.
According to the manufacturers, there are no artificial sweeteners or natural sugar in the date soda. Date cola is made exclusively from local products in accordance with international food safety requirements.
Tasters describe the taste of date cola as recognizable, fresh and slightly tart. In the future, plans are underway to expand the line of non-alcoholic tonic drinks. The manufacturer assures that the new products will change the approach to date consumption around the world.
